U3A Lower North's Annual Art Exhibition has a new venue and a new time of year.
The 2016 exhibition ran from Friday 16 December to Monday 19 December in the front rooms of the Clare Town Hall. This coincided with the Christmas Tree display in the Town Hall.
Mayor Allan Aughey dropped by on Saturday morning to chat with artists and tutor Gerald Moore as space limitations prevented an official opening.
Sales of art topped $1,000 and the art group's extensive range of greeting cards brought in another $400 between this exhibition and the Christmas Craft Fair.
Over the years the exhibition has had a couple of different venues but this is the first time it has been in the very centre of Clare. Its success, both in visitor numbers and sales, probably means the new home and date is locked in for some time to come.
Helping to organize this exhibition, was Pauline Reid. Being a member of both the management committee and the art group, Pauline is ideally placed to liaise between all parties.
